A gentle crisp breeze kicking fallen leaves back into motion while birds bustle in the background. Wanting to connect, to be grounded with the earth the woman slips off her shoes and navigates branches that aren't meant to pokey but still are to uncalloused soles. What looks to be tip toeing through the forest is really ginger placement of footsteps. As branches gently push deeper into her feet her balance shifts to steady herself so she can take one more step.
One more step. Many days that is all that is required. A step without knowing how it will effect balance, a step that must happen but is ultimately uncertain.
